80/20 Thinking started out in January 2008 with a mission to provide organizations with the insight and the resources to improve consumer trust and to reduce risk across a wide spectrum of problem areas in privacy, data protection and security awareness.

Our company was founded by skilled professionals with a long and celebrated history of advocacy on issues of privacy, transparency and fairness. Many of them have spent much of their lives standing up to large and powerful interests to defend human rights and democratic values. The formation of 80/20 Thinking was based on the idea that the skills and experience of these people could be perfectly matched with the needs of organizations facing a range of complex challenges.

Within a few weeks of incorporation we had established a strong client and partner base, including FacebookPGP CorporationAOLSecure ComputingPhorm and the London School of Economics, which from September 2008 will partner with us to deliver Executive Education courses in privacy and data security.

80/20's UK strategic partner is the global PR firm Burson-Marsteller. B-M and 80/20 will be working closely together to build networks and create projects and events that address key privacy and security issues.

The 80/20 team also has a long-established working relationship with the Enterprise Privacy Group, a leading think-tank for organizations developing best practice in the management of personal information. This relationship will be developed through joint service offerings and reciprocal arrangements for Enterprise Privacy Group Members and 80/20 clients.
