80/20 appointed to evaluate UN High Commission for Refugees

UN UNHCR   The 80/20 team has commenced an international privacy audit of the registration systems operating in UNHCR refugee centres, focusing on fingerprinting technologies, The evaluation will commence in Malaysia and will then take place in Ethiopia, Djibouti and Kenya. 80/20 will be the external evaluators for the UN internal assessment and will produce a Privacy Impact Assessment for UNHCR.

80/20 to manage international project on consent

LSE IS logo 80/20 has announced an important new project on informed customer consent, focusing on the online environment. The Working Group, will be convened by the London School of Economics, will be managed by 80/20 Thinking and is supported by the watchdog organisation Privacy International. It will engage with industry, consumer and legal experts from around the world. The Working Group members include Microsoft, eBay, Facebook, Vodafone and AOL. The project has the formal support of the Information Commissioners of Ireland, France, the UK, Berlin, Madrid and Slovenia.
